In 1990 a group of doctors and entrepreneurs from Hermosillo, with the vision of having a state of the art local hospital, got together to make their wish a reality. With the support of International Hospital Corporation and Nacional Financiera (NAFIN), Hospital CIMA Hermosillo was born.

In 1991, start the construction and operation of Hospital CIMA Hermosillo. On May 8, 1996 it opens its doors to the public, offering modern and well equipped facilities with a complete medical staff to provide specialized service of the highest quality. The first heart surgery takes place on the 1st of July of the same year, up to date thousands of procedures related to the heart have taken place here, establishing the Hospital as the main medical center for cardiology.

In 2001, the Public Health Department (Consejo de Salubridad General) grants certification to Hospital CIMA Hermosillo for the term 2001–2006, establishing the hospital as the first private hospital in the Northeast of Mexico to receive this recognition.

The year 2002 is the year when a new Cat Lab unit is put into operation, becoming the first in the State of Sonora in the private sector, to have the most modern equipment. Rotary Club of Arizona and Hospital CIMA Hermosillo, initiate the program “Gift of Life” in 2003 to help children with cardiac diseases. In the area of cardiology we have the privilege and honor of providing treatment to patients from Sonora, Sinaloa, and Baja California, becoming the main focus of cardiology in Sonora. Hospital CIMA has more than 500 specialized physicians in 50 different specialties.

In November 2005, the hospital opens an MRI, Philips 1.5 unit with the latest state of the art equipment in this field, allowing our doctors to perform highly specialized procedures, like cerebral angiographies, which had never been performed in Sonora.

From the beginning, our achievements have been possible thanks to the physicians, nurses and personnel in our hospital that provide service to every patient that honors us with their preference.
