Laparoscopic Gastric bypass

Treatment: Laparoscopic gastric bypass on 12th October 2009 at Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon.

I have tried several different diets, including Weight Watchers, over the counter weight- loss tablets, tablets prescribed by doctors, shakes ext, all with no success. I’ve had a very good over-all experience. The staff at Artemis Hospital always made sure that I was comfortable with everything that was going on, before and after surgery. They were always there to answer any questions that I had, especially during the time that they did all the tests before the operation. They never kept me in the dark about anything. First thing that I can remember after I woke up from the operation, was one of the nurses smiling faces, and her making sure that I was comfortable. That meant so much to me. And after the operation, they were always there to keep an eye on me, making sure everything was ok. The 4 days after the operation that I was still in hospital, Dr. Goel came to see me everyday – sometimes 2 to 3 times a day! I appreciated that so much!

Dr. Goel was excellent! Dr. Goel was always there to reassure me when I was worried about something. Even now, 6 months after my surgery, I can still contact him with any questions that I have. It is good to know that I can still count on Dr. Goel now, because there’s not many surgeons who’s like that. I am so glad that Dr. Goel was my surgeon, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better! I would highly recommend Dr. Goel to anybody who is considering surgery!!!

After the operation, it took me quite a while to settle into my “new” life. It was strange that my 2 year old daughter can eat more than me, but after 6 months, I’ve settled in very well. I am so much more active than before, and a lot healthier. For the first time in years, I’m able to play with my children, run around with them, play soccer and to join them with what-ever game they are playing. About 2-3 months after my operation, my son told me: “Mommy, it is so nice that you can play with us”. It broke my heart, because all of us have missed out on so much because of my obesity. And now, I’m making up for everything that we have lost! And it feels great not to only think about how nice it would be to do something with them, but to actually be able to do it! Now, I’m fit, I’m healthy and I I’m happy!
