SurgeryPlanet may display advertisements and may receive compensation from partner organizations. This policy describes our advertising practices and how they relate to our content.

Our Revenue Model

SurgeryPlanet is free for patients. We generate revenue through: referral fees from partner hospitals when patients choose to proceed with treatment (this does not increase the patient's cost), and advertising placements on the website. Patients are never charged for our facilitation services.

Separation of Advertising and Editorial Content

Advertising and sponsored content are separate from editorial content. Advertisers and sponsors do not influence: editorial decisions, content creation, hospital or surgeon listings, rankings, or recommendations, or the information provided in our guides and resources. Editorial integrity is core to our mission of helping patients make informed decisions.

Labeling

Sponsored content, advertisements, and paid placements are clearly labeled as such. You will be able to distinguish between independent editorial content and paid or sponsored material.

Affiliate Relationships

When you click a link to a partner hospital or service, SurgeryPlanet may receive a referral fee if you choose to proceed. This does not affect the price you pay. Not all hospitals listed are paying partners — we list hospitals based on accreditation and services, not payment status.
