SurgeryPlanet is committed to accuracy. If you identify information on our website that you believe is inaccurate, outdated, or misleading, we want to know — and we will correct verified errors promptly.

How to Report an Error

Email us at corrections@surgeryplanet.com. Please include: the URL of the page containing the error, a description of what you believe is incorrect, the correct information (if known), and any supporting sources or evidence. You may also use our Contact page.

What Happens After You Report

  1. Acknowledgment: We acknowledge receipt of your report within 2 business days
  2. Investigation: Our editorial team investigates the reported issue, consulting medical reviewers if the content is clinical in nature
  3. Correction: Verified errors are corrected promptly. The page's last-updated date is revised to reflect the correction
  4. Response: We notify you of the outcome of our investigation

Types of Corrections

  • Factual errors: Incorrect statements of fact. These are corrected immediately upon verification
  • Outdated information: Information that was accurate but is no longer current. Updated with current information
  • Clarity improvements: Information that is technically correct but could be misleading. Revised for clarity
  • Omissions: Important safety information, risks, or alternatives that are missing. Added to the content

Limitations

We do not remove content solely because it is critical of a particular provider, treatment, or approach — provided the content is accurate and balanced. We do not alter content based on commercial pressure from advertisers or partners.
