How to Report an Error
Email us at corrections@surgeryplanet.com. Please include: the URL of the page containing the error, a description of what you believe is incorrect, the correct information (if known), and any supporting sources or evidence. You may also use our Contact page.
What Happens After You Report
- Acknowledgment: We acknowledge receipt of your report within 2 business days
- Investigation: Our editorial team investigates the reported issue, consulting medical reviewers if the content is clinical in nature
- Correction: Verified errors are corrected promptly. The page's last-updated date is revised to reflect the correction
- Response: We notify you of the outcome of our investigation
Types of Corrections
- Factual errors: Incorrect statements of fact. These are corrected immediately upon verification
- Outdated information: Information that was accurate but is no longer current. Updated with current information
- Clarity improvements: Information that is technically correct but could be misleading. Revised for clarity
- Omissions: Important safety information, risks, or alternatives that are missing. Added to the content
Limitations
We do not remove content solely because it is critical of a particular provider, treatment, or approach — provided the content is accurate and balanced. We do not alter content based on commercial pressure from advertisers or partners.
