Dr. Guy-Bernard Cadière is professor of surgery at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and head of the digestive surgery department at CHU Saint-Pierre in Brussels. He is internationally recognised in laparoscopic surgery, publicly reported to have performed the first laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding procedure in 1992 and one of the world's first telesurgical procedures.
